Trauma Therapy

FOR FOLKS IN PHOENIX, ARIZONA & THROUGHOUT THE STATE

“You can spend a lifetime trying to forget a few minutes of your childhood.”

The effects of trauma can have a lifelong impact. Trauma can alter how the brain functions, and its signs and symptoms can vary from finding it difficult to trust and being constantly on guard, to sudden panic and intrusive, anxiety-ridden thoughts. It can also feel like you are numb and disconnected and constantly in autopilot mode. Trauma can significantly lessen your quality of life.

Trauma can be a result of a singular event or something experienced on an ongoing basis. Domestic violence, rape, sexual abuse, physical abuse, medical procedures, car accidents, and natural disasters, can all cause significant trauma in one’s life. Growing up with developmental trauma, emotional neglect with little to no support, can be just as traumatic and leave lifelong scars.

Trauma therapy may include approaches like EMDR therapy and somatic experiencing, which help process trauma at a deeper level and support nervous system healing.

Dear Self, isolation was not the answer. I’m sorry that you were forced to go through big and scary stuff alone. Thank you for taking care of us. I can take it from here. You can rest now.
